Transportation (There are several ways to get to the congress venue)

Option 1 – Leoš Janáček Ostrava Airport

Leoš Janáček Ostrava Airport is the third-largest airport in the Czech Republic with regular international flights. It is approximately 25 km from the congress venue, VSB – Technical University of Ostrava (VSB-TUO). Here are instructions on how to get from Mošnov Airport to VSB-TUO:

From a public transportation perspective, you can choose between bus or train transportation.

1. Bus transportation: The nearest bus stop to Leoš Janáček Ostrava Airport is “Mošnov, Airport nádraží,” from where you can go to the center of Ostrava. From there, you can continue by tram or bus to VSB-TUO.

2. Train transportation: The nearest train station to Leoš Janáček Ostrava Airport is “Mošnov, Ostrava Airport,” from where you can go to Ostrava-Svinov station. From there, you can continue by tram or bus to VSB-TUO.

3. Taxi: Another convenient option is to use a taxi service. Taxi stands can be found in front of Leoš Janáček Ostrava Airport. Please note that this option may be more expensive than public transportation.

4. Car rental: You can also rent a car directly at the airport and navigate to VSB-TUO. This provides greater flexibility for traveling in the area. Keep in mind that parking at VSB-TUO is charged at 40 CZK per hour. If you prefer not to use the paid parking at VSB, you can also use free parking areas near the university campus.

Option 2 – Václav Havel Prague Airport
Václav Havel Prague Airport is the largest airport in the Czech Republic with regular international flights. If you choose this option, the best way to get from this airport to VSB-TUO in Ostrava is as follows:

1. You need to travel from the airport to the main train station. For this purpose, you can use:

   a) Taxi – there are always plenty of taxis available in front of the airport (the quickest and most convenient option).

   b) Bus transportation (https://idos.idnes.cz/en/) – a direct bus line runs every 30 minutes.

   c) Combined transportation (bus + metro or bus + tram – https://idos.idnes.cz/en/) – somewhat complicated but runs every 5 minutes.

2. For transportation from the main train station in Prague to Ostrava-Svinov station in Ostrava, you can choose from the following train operators:

   a) RegioJet (https://regiojet.com/) – a private carrier offering 4 transport tariff options (low cost, standard, relax, business).

   b) LeoExpress (https://www.leoexpress.com/en) – another private carrier offering 4 transport tariff options (economy, economy plus, business, premium).

   c) ČD (https://www.cd.cz/en) – a state carrier offering a wide range of trains (Express, InterCity, ExpressCity, SuperCity) with various transport tariffs.

Trains from Prague to Ostrava run approximately every 30 minutes. We strongly recommend purchasing or reserving your ticket in advance.

3. For transportation from Ostrava-Svinov train station to VSB-TUO, you can use:

   a) Taxi – this option is available in front of Ostrava-Svinov station.

   b) Bus transportation (https://idos.idnes.cz/en/ or https://www.dpo.cz/travel/index-en.html) – a direct bus line runs approximately every S
